New to this forum, but not new to tomtom. Had the original tomtom (US), but when the touch screen on it finally died, I switched to the Dash, now that I am no longer getting traffic updates, I have decided to return to the tomtom fold. I should be getting my new 740TM tomorrow. Wish me luck...

Welcome to TTF!

Don't forget to make an Explorer, not Home, backup when you get the unit. Then go for the LMG and once it is installed, make a different Explorer backup.

Thanks, I did do the explorer based backups before and after the map upgrade. Traffic is broken after the map upgrade, but have logged a call into support to hopefully get it fixed. Now I just have to figure out how to upload an an itinerary from google maps. My route from my house to my in-laws is complex but nav devices always get it wrong. I also have to figure out what to do with the extra lifetime map upgrade code that I got in the box. (there were two, I have used one)
