Hello, i'm driver of Touringcars and used a TomTom 6250 professional for most of my trips. Now i'm using since a few weeks a new TomTom Go Expert 7. Are there more forum-users with experince with this new TomTom?

No, I have the non-truck (Discover) version of your 7" device, and would be interested in hearing about your experiences with the 'professional' version. Just out of curiosity, what are the first two characters of the serial number of your Expert 7? Is it a ZW or YC version?

Hello Canderson,

I'm just using this Go Expert 7, after using for nearly 5 years the 6250 Professional. Unfortunaly my bag with my 6250, holder and sevaral other belongings is stolen out of my touringcar. So i had to look for a new one.

Plus: of this device is the clearness of the screen and the fast response. Minus: missing the old style menu. Much handyer. Further missing several usefull POI on the screen. Restplaces with most of the time P-space for a touringcar. Missing the DKV Pois on the map.

Yes, new 7" has quite a nice screen, and it's very fast for searching and routing compared to the old model. My BIGGEST complaint about it is no custom POI capability. While the custom POI support on the 6250 wasn't as good as it used to be on older models, it is completely gone on the newer models.

We have asked TomTom MANY times to support custom POI on recent models, but so far we have had no success in moving them in that direction! It is because of that feature that I still use my GO 620 (non-truck version of your GO 6250) quite often, even though I like other things about the new 7" Discover/Expert model better.

You must have purchased your 7" Expert fairly recently. The "YC" model is newer with a different GPS chip than the original "ZW".

Hi - I use the TomTom GO Discover 7" Premium Pack and I'm trying to locate a second magnetic mount with suction cup. I've tried Tom Tom and other outlets without success. Are you able to help here? Brian (UK Based)

No, but I can certainly check with one of my TT friends to see if there's a way to purchase them. Like you, I checked the online site and do not find them under 'accessories'.
Will get back to you if I get an answer. I'm going to 'tag' this message with the expression 7MOUNT so I can find it quickly later!

I should clarify:
I do see them on the UK site, but unavailable for purchase - just as "Available Soon"
I don't see them at ALL on the USA site.

The bracket seems now officially available at TT! Ready to ship in 1-2 days!

@TomJohnRoad ,
Rest areas as Pois are already available, under ( POIs - further categories) Only unfortunately they are only displayed on the maps but not in the sidebar! For the profile setting bus or truck they are not displayed in the sidebar! This is known to TT and I hope that they finally change it! I've been fighting since the release of the Go Expert to bring this feature! Unfortunately, so far in vain!
