Guide to Upgrading to Latest ?

Hi

Im new to this site from the UK, right i have previously updated my speedcams from sites and torrents before.


I have the original TOMTOM ONE i have a 2gb sd card just want to know what do i have to do to get the latest new firmware and maps. Is there an external site or a complete file i need.

If you have not done so, you need to set up TT Home on your computer and bond your device to (simply by stsrting Home when your device is connected. If you will want to download maps, you need to set up a TomTom account (email address, password).

Before doing anything, make a complete copy of your device using windows explorer. After connecting to Home, it will off to install any new applications. Do not let it until you have home "Copy to Computer" the current application (always do this so you can easy roll-back if you have problems with a newer app). Also have it copy to computer your map, as it can then easily be re-installed without having to cut-and-past with explorer.

Now go back to updates in Home and let it update the new application. If you are a number of applications behind the current, it will offer them one at a time until you are up to the latest. "Copy to Computer" with Home each one first, so they will all be available to re-install if needed.

If you want to update your map, go to that tab in Home. It should offer you the latest one (and give you a choice of other maps). It should show you the price as you select them - you can proceed or back out at that point.

Ok, i will do this when i get home, but do i not need to download any updates like from external sites. id like to have the latest version i think its 8? isnt it?

All apps are downloaded through home. There is a website that has older apps that you can install manually, but 8.01 is not one of them.

Note - I looked at your youtube link, and it shows One V# with 8.01 app and 8 series maps. When you go to the TomTom website, it only show map version 725 available, and I doubt it will offer you app version 8.01 either. No harm in seeing if it will upgrade to 8.01, but if it won't - the features you are looking for will not work.

I have a 910 and have the same problem. TomTom does not want older units to be upgraded anymore - they want to sell new ons.

If someone has this on an original One v3, then they found a way to load it (possibly by cloning from a different device). If the address on the youtube video offers a unit with both - you might consider it.

I ahave just downloaded 7.20.1802 is that then the latest in 7? with GB and ROI on. It has in the files of tomtom original 7.1 firmware the map data,newest postcode filekeygen mapcheck?

Do these sound correct.

version 7.25 maps should be available thru Home Sept 11th.

If you went through Home, it should have offered the 725 map. These are also offered on the UK website for your device.

Unfortunately, I believe the version you were looking for is an 8.xx series map with the 8.01 Application - which TomTom is not making available to older devices.
