Great refurb experience

I got a GO730 refurb from Amazon for $161 with a $30 rebate. Great price!

I called TT to ask about the LMG. Sure, no problem. Send us a receipt and we'll add it to your account ASAP. I sent them the receipt around 12n and by 3p they had the latest maps added to my account.

A couple of days later I opened a ticket because I couldn't get the Traffic trial to work. TT sent an email back apologizing and comped me a year of traffic service!

I should have ditched the orphaned Mio C310x months ago!!!

That's a great price for the refurb Go 730 . You are one of the lucky ones to get the LMG. TT web site states that refurbs are " not eligible for the 30 day map guarantee". I bought a refurb Go 730 directly from TT, 3 months ago, and they refused to give me the latest map!! I had to pay $50 to get it.
By the way, how do you get a trial for the traffic service?

I just called up and said that I was having trouble activating the free trial. The previous owner probably already used the trial, but they didn't give me any hassle.

I actually made money off thie deal. I was getting the 730 refurb through ShopAmex where you can buy things with rewards points. They place the order with a retailer (in my case, OfficeMax) and credit your account for the total purchase price. Well, Office Max was out of stock and had discontinued the item. I called Amex and they said that since I already had the credit on my account I could just purchase it from any retailer. So I searched around and found it at Amazon for $131 after the rebate. Since it was around $200 from Office Max 9with tax) i acrually made almost $70 on the deal. Enough to get a 2 year squareTrade Warranty and then some.
