GPS Signal problems

Hi all, I have a problem with my Tom Tom XL IQ. I bought it about 5 months ago and all was fine and normal. About 3 months ago (after lending it to my girlfriend), it started to take really long to get a GPS signal - from 5 to 45 minutes, even after frequently restarting. I can see that it find satillites (up to 7 of them) but they are all grey. The signal is generally weaker than before when driving and it sometimes looses signal when I am driving on the open road, not to mention frequently in cities. this is independent of where the device is inside the car (a clio). I did reload the latest updates about tow months ago and it did find the satillites within one minute that time, but then it was back to normal - about 10-15 minutes.

Is the device fried, any ideas?
Tks

TRy again to get the latest gpsquickfix file.

Delete (using Explorer) anything found in the ephem folder on the unit and also use Explorer to look here:
c:\documents and settings\yourname\my documents\TomTom\Home\Downloads\Complete\ephemeris\

and delete any sub folders found there.

Connect to Home and you should get a new file. DL and install. Any better?
