GPS EUROPE / US

Hello,

I live in Europe (I'am french and live in Spain, Bacelona). I will go soon to US (California) and I was wondering if it would be best to buy a GPS over there or in Europe.

Also in case I buy it in US what recommendation or model should I choose? Can I download the European map afterwards?

PS: In US I will not have a computer, will my map for US be up-to-date?

If you wish the latest US map (version 915) then I would suggest buying a gps in Europe and purchasing the US map there. The reason is that map 915 was released a couple of weeks ago and chances are that any gps unit bought in the US likely would still be old stock with an older map.

While that wouldn't be an issue if you had access to a computer while in the States (so you could update to the latest map), it obviously will be a problem for you.

I'd look for a device with a micro sdhc slot so you can have room for extra map expansion. I would not look for a LIVE unit if you think LIVE Services which will work in Europe would also work in the USA. They won't.
