Got this satnav in 2019, wanted a bigger screen.
On & off for the last 3/ years the voice directions stop.
Still useable but than the speed camera voice alerts also stop.
This happens i have noticed after an update but can happen anytime.
Then there are days when i can see a camera up ahead or on the motorways gantry but tt dosent pick it up.
Everything is up to date
The map on the screen does work 100% ok all the time, so visually as long as i keep looking at the tt i can get to where i am going.
My friends satnav go also randomly does that.

I do whilst i am driving switch the tt off & switch it back on , which does bring back the voice & the alerts

Talking to a friend of mine & he said that tt use 2g network which is being phased out & so some places signal is non existent or very weak.
Eventually tt sat navs will be useless .

Is there a fix TT?

Already resetting the device to factory settings can solve some of your problems.

If still the same instead of using the SIM card of your GPS using the Wi-Fi connection of your phone can help.

Willy875….am sorry just saw your reply…Thanks for your advice.
Your advice about the sim card…. On the Go6200, there is only 1 slot for a memory card, can’t find a slot for a sim card.
What am i missing?
What do i need to use wifi from my phone?
Thank you.

Yes, TomTom uses 2G cellular connection for data on the 6200, and yes, that service is being phased out all over the world. In many places, it is already gone.

However, that doesn't make your 6200 obsolete. You can also use your phone as a WiFi hot spot and connect your 6200 to your phone and get traffic data that way. You'll need to create a WiFi password for your phone, and tell your 6200 what that password is when you set it up. Go to Menu / Settings / Wi-Fi / and find your phone in the list. Not knowing what phone you have, we can't say what the Hot Spot setup looks like there.

Canderson thank you very much, will try it when i get home.

If you turn the GPS off and on again, which brings back the voice and alerts, I don't think it's an issue with 2G.

Trying to read between the lines (maybe a bad idea) I had assumed he was getting no notifications at all, not just the missing the audio. Power cycling solutions usually relate to connectivity issues on this series TT.
