GO 6000
Hello and thank you for accepting me into this forum.

Having not used our GO6000 for a while, we noticed in the past few days that we no longer get any traffic information when travelling. In TomTom Services on the device we found that Traffic Services is supposed to have expired last month. It then says to go to TomTom/Services and purchase a subscription, but there are two problems.
  1. Although I have logged into both My Drive and the GO 6000 they will not connect, no matter what I try (incl. the infamous ‘turn-it-off-and-turn-it-on-again’ or rebooting the laptop). There was a recent up-date to My Drive, though.
  2. When I go to the website and log into my account, there is no subsection ‘Services’ and in my account there are no subscriptions listed, expired or otherwise (apart from speed cameras, which we never had). Consequently, there is no path to purchasing any services / features.
I realise this is difficult to assess remotely and even more difficult to advise on a solution, but I will be very grateful for any suggestions you might be able to provide.

Hi
If you have gone more than 18 months without connecting to Mydrive connect, your SIM card must have been deactivated, so you need to contact Tomtom to see if this is really the case.

Check that information sharing is enabled on your GPS.

Thank you for your suggestions. I don't think it was more than 18 months, but I will follow up on this, as soon as I have found a way past the chat bot and a way to contact them.

I found elsewhere on the Forum the tip to type into the chat bot: I want to talk to a human being, and it worked. He sorted the traffic info issue, but it seems I need a new cable, which I have ordered.

Thanks for your kind help.

Nice one! That worked for me too, thank you!

The human I chatted with after your suggested chat bot text worked as you described explained that 'the computer' did not support non-expiring traffic subscriptions (as many of us are entitled to based on the device we originally purchased, in my case a Go 5000) so the traffic was originally put in as a 10 year subscription, which for me ended earlier this month.

When she 'renewed' it, it was for another 10 years, after which, I guess, I will have to follow the same process again.

All a bit silly really, but I refuse to buy a new satnav that depends on mobile data from my phone. The original, built-in SIM is a far better idea!
