GO500 stuck on checking downlaod

This is driving me bonkers. Just a quick hour os so to update my GO500 before I go onholiday 3 hours later still no further. It downlaods the checked items then at 100% download it says checking items, left it for an hour but still stuck. Checked the forum suggest clearing cache tried that still it doesn't redownload goes straight back to checking. Uninstalled the app and checked to uninstall all remnants of downloads. Reinstalled My drive and bang there I am again items already downloaded and back again stuck at checking.

Anybody any ideas. Its a new PC doubt that has anythng to do with it. Thinkling of getting my old one out of the shed as it worked perfectly on that.

If it is a new computer, it is possible that the firewall, antivirus and pop-up blockers can interfere with the download?

Thanks for your reply. I gave up and got my old PC out. Plugged it in to old PC and the G500 suddenly started updating even though I hadn't downloaded the files to old computer.No idea were it's getting the files from unless they were downloaded to device from New PC. Seems like the files had been uploaded to the device but were unable to start installing until I removed from new PC to the old PC, go figure! Currently on 24% updating. . Fingers crossed

I have had this little Tomtom device for over 20 years. I got it on lifetime free updates for everything maps speed camera etc. Amazing that it keeps going. Hope I haven't bricked it by transferring to another PC but as I say no indication on New PC anything was happening but leapt into action when unplugged and plugged into oldPC.

I don't believe the GO 500 has lifetime radar updates.

Ah... we've more than once suggested to TomTom that they not 'reuse' model names/numbers.

You had me wondering for about a millisecond there! Your "20 years" is clearly a bit of an exaggeration, but there WAS a previous "GO 500" released back in 2005! That really would have been 20 years ago!

But you say you got updates for yours and are using MyDrive Connect, so we know you have the far newer version of GO 500 that was released only 2015

As long as you've got a proper login with MyDrive Connect, there's no reason you can't manage updates on whatever computer you like that will run that software.
