TomTom Model(s)
Go 5200
I have been using a Go Superior 6” since September, after being badgered by Tom Tom to buy a newer one. I wanted a larger screen and the ability to avoid ULEZ and I am pleased with the new model. I thought I would like the enhanced visual clues but turned them off after a few days. The idea is good but covering the whole screen with arrows for a while started to annoy me. I was just about to report a speed camera van one day when the arrows started and I lost the chance.

I have some questions and i don’t know if anyone can help.

I find that every couple of days or so I have to re-enter my password in settings on the device. Is this normal or is there a way to keep it logged in?

Since September I have had notifications for map updates, and software updates but I have not been notified of any speed camera updates. On my previous 5200 I would be notified of speed camera updates every few days. Am I not getting updates or are updates done behind the scenes? Speed camera warnings work normally when driving.

When I arrive at a destination a black box appears top right of the screen where you can search for parking etc nearby. I don’t find this particularly useful and it stays until I click to cancel it. Is there a way to make it disappear automatically after a minute or so?

I see people have asked this before, but I would like to have the current time shown at the bottom of the side bar which my old device used to do. Is there any way to show it.

Many thanks

Normally, devices are updated via Wi-Fi
To see if there are new updates to the Speed Camera service, open the main menu, select Settings, then Updates and new items.
Additionally, if your GPS is connected to your phone, you should receive live alerts.
