GO SUPERIOR ALWAYS EMPTY

hi forum,
in these last few days i have some issues on my: GO SUPERIOR 7 inches, six months old.

1) actually connected via USB, to my Imac,i only see the word: TOMTOM logo,displayed,impossible to update maps or firmware.
i tried clicking the power button ,to have the drumroll.but nothing.
UPDATE THIS VERY MOMENT:
suddenly, after 1 hour round, i have seen and heard the drumroll and now i am updating maps.
but what ,if i face the same situation again?

2) when in use,via USB in my car,..it works,but,i always see the battery icon,upper right,always..red color and empty!
yesterday.in 10km of road.it was, suddenly OFF.. 3times,while the icon showed that it was in charge ,correctly.
Until3 days ago,it was possible to see the level of charge,when used in the car,in one hour round, it passed from empty, to full.
what can i do?

No need to connect to your computer.

For map updates, it's only via your home Wi-Fi.

Willy, thanks for your time but,
if it is empty after a car journey,,of course i have to connect it to the Mac,or it would be off..in very few minutes.

and what about the question numb 2?it is never seen before and bad, if the navi go off suddenly, while driving.

If I understand correctly, it's the battery that's draining?

Is your GPS permanently plugged into the cigarette lighter charger that came with the GPS?

FYI, you should not directly connect your GPS's USB cable to your car's USB socket to keep it charging.

As Willy875 mentioned, connect it via the supplied cable or equivalent to the supplied cigarette charger adapter in the car. When updating the maps at home you do not need to plug it into a laptop. I just connect my Superior via a phone charger power supply, as it updates via WiFi.

first, i appreciate your time,
i connect it via the supplied cable ,to the supplied cigarette charger adapter in the car,until 3 days ago,in one hour or less, it went from empty,to fully charged,after a little journey with the car,actually, every time i check the battery icon,upper right,after some km, made,few or many, before to put off the engine, i always see the empty..red icon of the battery.
why? clearly it is not right, what can i do to return to a normal situation,where after 20..30 minutes of driving, i can see the full charge?
somth is not working properly.

In my opinion, you will have to try with another cable and another cigarette lighter charger.

Unless it is the fuse of the cigarette lighter socket of your car that is defective?

The plug into the cigarette lighter charger that came with the TomTom has a green light on it which lights up when the ignition is turned on (Mine Does)
Check if yours has, also check if it stays on during your journey.
If the power to the Satnav does fail, then the screen usually gives the option of going into sleep mode or switching off etc
