TomTom Model(s)
TomTom Go Exclusive
I am trying to pair my iPhone by Bluetooth with my new Go Exclusive. My phone says it is connected but Go Exclusive says not connected although it can find my phone and I did pair it after receiving the code. I am connected to Traffic, TomTom account & wifi. When I click on bluetooth a constant ”unable to connect blue tooth tethering“ Message is on the ”Go“ screen. Is my go exclusive faulty. Impossible to find any help from the chatbot. Any ideas?

Instead of using a Bluetooth connection, use your phone's Wi-Fi hotspot.
It works much better.

Thanks yet again. I need to check with my wireless data provider that my contract & phone covers the usage, if not I’m sure I can upgrade.

Tom Tom may have a good product but they don’t service it!

Yes, you should check with your provider to see if tethering (of either the Bluetooth or WiFi flavors) is part of your current plan.

Thanks for your reply. I contacted GiffGaff yesterday and just got a member of the community reply and said that didn’t happen, but Apple set up info suggest that could happen. So today I’ve sent a message to a GiffGaff Agent to ask the question again so before I package it up to return it I can upgrade if necessary. Looking on TomTom’s website today in case I replaced it with another ‘Go’ ? Go Exclusive wasn’t even mentioned, only Superior, Navigator & Classic. Perhaps Exclusive has a problem - maybe.

No you are right Willy875, I’m planning on replacing it with Go Navigator as I don’t need world maps any more, so I don’t need Go Superior. I was just surprised that the Go Exclusive was not for sale on their website hence me writing Go? for replacement. Too many problems for TomTom 8 suppose.

Just a thought
Bluetooth is limited to only 1 connection at a time
So I would suggest to check if you have another Bluetooth device connected when you are trying to pair
