Anybody got any ideas please ? I purchased a Go Camper Max that has on a number of ocassions suggested and sent me on routes that are unsuitable for a vehicle of the dimensions set up on the Sat Nav even when A roads are being suggested as the route by both Apple and Google apps on my phone ? I have even set the sat nav to the max dimensions and it has still suggested a country road by where I live which is totally unsuitable unless you want all the windows on your motor home scratched whilst pulling over to let vehicles past ? I am reaching the point where I have lost all confidence the the sat nav and feel I have wasted hundreds on a device that does not provide the correct or suitable routes which was the whole purpose for buying it .. has anybody else experienced this or resolved the issue .. Tia

In my opinion, the only solution to avoid bridges and small roads is to plan the route in advance and then save it.

Doesn’t that negate the whole point of the Go Camper Max which has the vehicle dimensions stored in advance to help you be directed on the correct route in real time. Planning in advance would be possible on my old Tom Tom ? The issue is that in real time it directs you down unsuitable roads whilst apple and google suggest alternative routes which are A roads with no knowledge of the vehicle size that you are driving but are more suitable routes?

This is not new, many people have this problem with GPS for large vehicles.
If this is the case then Tom Tom shouldn’t sell sat nav’s specifically for Campervans and Motorhomes particularly where the suggested routes are less suitable than the suggested routes for a standard vehicle and suggested by Apple, Google and Waze .. that just doesn’t make sense and the entering of your vehicle dimensions is just a useless gimmick then ? Surely that’s not the case ?
