Hi

My 930 has a problem

I placed it on the floor of the car and condensation from a soft drink cup dripped on it in the area of the on/off switch

I had turned it off and when I returned to the car it was on - it would not turn off when I pressed the button for 5 or 6 seconds - in fact all I get is a black screen with white lettering - looks like a computer boot screen

I did a pin reboot and got the same screen - still can not turn it off

Any ides?

Not sure how much this would apply to your unit but we have heard that placing the unit in a bag of rice for a day or two might absorb the moisture. I know that this is used at times with cell phones and apparently does work. There is some debate whether just allowing the unit to dry out without the rice would work as well but who knows?
Unfortunately it is best not to have electronics on during their unexpected bath but in your case the unit turned itself on. Probably a short in the switch caused by the moisture.
Let us know what happens. Perhaps someone else has a suggestion.

Well, you could try the Clear Flash tool found here.. Download and install it while the unit is connected to the computer. Perhaps try to run it twice.

If that doesn't work, do you have a sdhc card you can insert into the unit? If so, insert and try a pin reset again.

If that doesn't work you can try this: use Explorer to view the contents of the unit. (Ensure hidden files/folders are showing). Delete all loose files in the root of the unit but NO folders or their contents. Start Home. It should recognize that the application is missing and offer to dl it. Accept and reinstall.

Before doing the previous step, make a complete Explorer backup of your unit's contents.
