When using my 910 today there were no verbal instructions on the route, but when i tested the voice it worked then about halfway through my journey, the unit shut down and would not start up again. I have tested the cigar plug and lead and this working fine giving 5volts, could the mount itself be faulty and not keeping the unit charged and it shut down the voice instruction to preserve power wonder has anyone else come across this problem John.

My understanding is the mount with that model was problematic in that the unit often got loose and broke the connection.

Our UK based mods may have more info/advice.

Yes that's quite right. This was a common problem wit the GOx10 range.

On the base of the device there should be a small rubber bung. If that gets lost, many people found the connection to the mount became a bit 'iffy'.

Unfortunately, some OTHER people found they could improve the connection by removing the bung!

I think that model has an led to show when it externally powered doesn't it? If so, it should be easy to try a few experiments with wobbling the unit back and forth on the mount to see if it gives an intermittent connection.

I also think I remember those models did have one software revision that shut down the voice very early, well before the battery was completely drained.
What software version is it running?
