Question I upgraded the TT Home to the newest App. After doing so I noticed or least it seems the volume is not as loud as it was and also with the radio on it use to automatically speak louder cause of road noise etc.. Now it's hard to hear it seems. Just seems lower. I did a soft reset but no luck. Anyone else ever have problems with the volume to go lower than expected even if set at what you had it at before level wise?

Known issue affecting some when updating to newest application.

In Volume preferences --> link to noise level. Uncheck that if checked. Helps remedy for some.

You could always revert back to Navcore 8,302 the previous working release, if you don't know how or don't have a backup from while you were running this version post back and I will offer some links and instructions - Mike

I'm having the same issue with lower volume than desired. Looks like TOM TOM missed the mark testing 8.35.

Hi Mike,
Can you please offer that help with reverting back to the previous version and just curious by reverting back to it am I going to lose anything , what I mean is the newer version what is the difference between the two ?

Rick

Navcore 8.350 reintroduced the capability to have voice instructions via FM; you'll lose that.

David has answered the part about the difference, lets get some instructions on here:

I assume you are wanting to take the 730T back to Navcore 8,302

You can download this version by clicking

Go-x20_Navcore 8,302

Go-x30_Navcore 8,302

To install this to your device I use WinRar which you can download from Here Switch the TomTom on and connect it to your PC, if TomTom Home starts up exit the application as Home isn't needed for this.

Double click the downloaded file

Depending upon which one you downloaded and winrar will fire up, use the mouse to select all files and folders then click "Extract To"

Please note the screen images I have used for this post are from an earlier version of TomTom Navcore, but the process is the same if installing any Navcore to the device.

Locate the drive letter associated with your TomTom and click it, make sure the Overwrite mode is selected to "Ask before overwrite", then press "OK"

When the dialogue box pops up saying "Confirm File Replace" click the "Yes To All" button.

Sit back and watch the progress bar, with a good USB2 connection a Navcore 8,302 installation will take around 2 minutes.

When its finished the update use the "Safely Remove Hardware" icon from the Task Tray and remove the lead from the device.

Let the device boot up and tap the sat strength meter (lower left) followed by the version box, the resultant screen will confirm the version installed is Navcore 8,302 - Mike

Thanks! Add me to the list of those helped by this fix.

Although, I haven't tried it out in my Loud car. :D

I considered returning my 720 unless I can find a way to fix the bluetooth phone connection reliability problem. I red on other forum that going back to 8.302 can fix the problem. It's a brand new unit so I don't have this version on my computer. Can you please give the procedure to roll back app version to 8.302 on a Mac ?

Thanks

Trobu
Will be habby of is GO 720 if the bluetooth nadfree cal could works.

1. Make a complete backup of your unit using Finder.
2. Delete all the loose files in the root of the unit, NO folders or their contents
3. Download 8.302 here
4. Use Stuffit to extract the contents of the compressed cab file, overwriting files when asked.

Is this sound/loudness issue still present in the newest OS for the 730T?

I'm considering purchasing the 730T. Is this sound/loudness issue still present in the newest OS for the 730T? I'm assuming that a newer upgrade is present that has addressed this issue. Is that the case?

Its still the same issue with the latest application for the 730 which currently uses 8,351 or earlier depending upon the map version as not all Navcores will work with the earlier maps, and not all new maps work with the earlier Navcores - Mike

The 730 series hasn't had an upgrade in over a year, so I don't know if it will ever get a bugfix app.

I recommend app 8.302 (see here). It isn't the newest version, but it can support all the current maps. It doesn't have many of the bugs in the newer software versions. It handles volume fine.
