Go 730 and a new 510
I just joines this forum so I didn't know not to use TT Home to backup my 730 so I did us e home to back it up. Now I find I cannot restore it so it's showing no maps found, tried sever times to restore through Home but nothing happens so my old 730 is useless. I backed up through home to a memory stick. I used a memory card in my 730 and I had Western Europe and Usa maps on it.
Can anyone give me a tutorial to fix my Go730.
I have looked in APPData folder and found some info about my 730 but no mention of maps. I have also found in Documents/Tomtom/Home/Backup/GO/Backup01 then there are a few things in there like internal memory, storage, Backup infi.ini and Backup.xml
Hope some one can help me on this.

OK.. Let's start with your Backup01 folder. You are saying that there are very few files there -- no folders?

Have you ever downloaded a full map for this device? Next to the "Backup" folder, check folder called "Download" and then "complete" and then "map". Do you find folders there?

Next, on the device, is there a folder on the SD card called "Western Europe" or "UK & ROI" and "North America" or anything similar to that? User your computer's OS to check for that.
Ditto for checking internal memory of the device itself to see if any of those folders exist.

If we can turn up a map somewhere, we may be able to put this thing to rights again.

On the internal memory of my 730 there is nothing. I have uploaded some shots of what I have on my memory stick and where it says memory SD card, this is in my GO 730 and what it contains. I hope this helps. And thanks for your reply.

I did download the USA map a long time ago, the europe map came with the 730. Although the SD card is in the 730 it doesn't seem to know it's there.

:):):)
Hey,hey. I think I have my maps back on my 730 bothe USA and Europe. I'll check it properly and let ypu know. Now I need to copy my favs off it and my home.

Those would be in a mapsettings.cfg file in a specific map folder. If you can find that file in one of the backups, copy it to the specific map folder now apparently active on the device.
