Just bought a Go 730. Will it read and play mp3's from an SD disk or do I have to upload them to the TomTom? It doesn't seem to want to read my mp3's from a 2 gig SD disk and the Jukebox say's "no songs." There is only about 100 meg of space left on this right out of the box. That's not much room for music. I have a Lowrance I350C that I was going to give to the wife and it reads and plays the songs from the SD disk.
Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks.:(

MP3 and SD

Yes, you can play mp3s from the SD card.

Make sure the card is formatted to FAT32,
create a directory called mp3
place your files there.

FYI -

Audiobooks go in a directory called audiobooks, but TT only plays audiobooks with the .aa extension. If you audiobook is an mp3, place it in the mp3 folder.

The mp3's can be played from a sd card. Make sure the card is formatted as fat32 and also make sure the mp3's reside in a folder on the card called mp3 (all lower case).

Thanks for the help guys. It was put the songs in a folder named mp3 that did it. I've been dissapointed for a couple of days over the music thing but I'm so far impressed with this unit again. I drive from Omaha NE to Texas a couple of times a month and I sure need my tunes.

One more question. Does anyone know if a 4 or 8 gig SD card will work?

A x20 can read AND write to a 4-gig sdhc card but only read from a 8-gig card, meaning you could put mp3's or photos or stuff on the card using Explorer while the card is in a sd card reader, not sitting in the unit.

Then put the card in the unit and it'll read the files.

How long does the battery last when you are playing mp3 songs from your GO720, I recharge the unit at night and use it for the next day and I can only play for 30 mins and then it runs out of battery, is my GO720 battery defected or it is just like that? Can anyone comfirm, thanks.
