Welcome to TTF.
Many issues:
1. Yes, Western_Europe contains the 3 countries you plan to visit BUT it's 2.2 gb in size and won't fit on internal. It will fit on a 4 gb sdhc card as long as Home acts properly and installs it the sdhc card when you purchase it. Home sometimes has a habit of trying to install on internal as well as or instead of the sdhc card so you want to be careful.
2. An alternative is to get the Central_Europe map. It contains these countries: Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Hungary, Monaco, Malta, Poland, San Marino, Slovakia, Slovenia, Switzerland, Netherlands, the Vatican City
and is 1.4gb in size so it will fit on internal if you decide to move the existing North_America map to an external sdhc card using Explorer. Your unit will handle maps on both internal and an external sdhc card quite well. I don't see why you can't get a reliable 4-gb sdhc card in the States beforehand (faster the speed the better--class 6+) and a well-known name, not any ebay shlock.
3. There is a way to 'trick' Home into thinking you have more than 2 gb storage.
* Copy all the loose files in the internal of the unit (those not in any folder) to a 4gb sdhc card. Use Explorer
* Insert the sdhc card into a card reader in the computer. Do NOT connect your 730 but do start Home.
* Home will 'think' the sdhc card IS your unit and offer up any map you want -- even those greater than 2 gb in size.
* Home will install your selected map on the card. You then insert the card into the unit. Since the operating system is now on the sdhc card, the unit boots from the card.
* As mentioned before, you can still operate with maps on both locations and switch between them by (on the unit) Manage Maps-->Switch maps. Both North_America and (Your European Map) will be listed.
Anyway, some things to think about ..........
Personally, I wouldn't wait till Europe to get the European map, even if it does come on a sdhc card. I'd rather make sure I test things out here first. But, that's me.
