Go 730 Favorites

I am on my second TomTom and just got the Go 730. I like everything about TT except how they limit the number of favorites when you have plenty of memory left. I believe the limit on the 730 is 48. I have to create POIs for each location. This is a real pain. Is there any way to tweak the TT to get it to save more than the 48? Thank you?

Not favourites, no. Which is why many prefer to set their favourites up as a custom poi category, maybe calling them My_favourites.ov2.

1. Go to this link: http://www.poiedit.com/ and dl the program.
2. Open the file mapsettings.cfg (found in your map folder) in the program and you'll see all your favourites listed.
3. Save each favourite as a poi and put it in the newly created poi category My_favourites.ov2 (or whatever you want to call it)
4. Copy the new .ov2 file into your map folder
5. Done!

(and you are NOT limited to 48 items, you can always add to this category).

Personally, I break it down further into categories. "Work" (as we have multiple switch sites), "Friends/Family", you could have "Vacation stops" and add into it from Google Maps... etc.

You can create a POI catagory on the unit, then if you got to add POI you can chose your favorites. I will add a favorite(s) as I have things to add, and later put them into an appropriate catagory under a POI. Easy to do and you are not tied to the 48 limit.
