Go 730 & Droid X

Has anybody tried to connect the DX to a TomTom Go 730? It worked fine with the Motorola Droid but I can't seem to get it to pair and connect with the DX. TT recognizes the DX and says it is paired but won't connect. During the setup mode the TT says to enter "0000" for the pin code. I do this but it isn't accepted and just keeps asking for me to enter the pin code. Any and all help will be greatly appreciated as I use the TT as a hands free unit.

This post says some Android versions have pairing bugs that are resolved with new firmware.

The Android 2.2 update is due out soon for the Droid X. Hopefully that helps.

Otherwise:
1) try doing a pin reset on the Tomtom and pull/replace the battery on the Droid X. Perhaps that might fix corruption on the bluetooth, it's helped with some of my Razrs.

2) See if you can set the Droid to always permit connections from the TT. That sometimes helps with connecting, if pairing was already successful.

Solution

After it prompts you to connect Choose always allow connection. Then on your droidX under networks expand bluetooth settings and then at the bottom you will see the TomTom Go 730 click it and connect it will bond with the Tom Tom and the 730 will finish it's setup of the droid.
