Go 700 maps

Hi all, me again. Buddy of mine saw what I did with my ONE XL HD, and left me his GO 700 to play with. I'm trying to update it, and will only do so much do the ungodly old map on it.

Currently running app 7.903 and map 567.0 (north america)

I'm going to backup the files on the GO700 and try replacing the map with the map from my ONE XL HD, see if it helps. Otherwise does anyone have a copy of the complete updated software bundle for this?

Maps are not interchangeable between units, even 2 units of tghe same model.

You'll need to purchase an updated map from TomTom but first connect to Home and install any updated applications offered. You may need to do this a couple of times to get to the current app for that model.

Yeah, I just figured out the map swap won't work. I've already run all other possible updates, but I already know my buddy isn't going to want to shell out 50 bucks for a new map when he could buy a newer TomTom on ebay for 50 and get the newest maps free through updates.

Can anyone with NavCore 8.351 or similar post a screenshot of their root directory, as well as what map version they are using?
I was able to use a newer NavCore than 7.903, but still attempting to one way or another make the newer maps work.

Let's be clear.......

If you're asking whether a newer application will allow for maps not meant for your unit (or not purchased from TomTom) to work, then you've come to the wrong place to ask and certainly the wrong place to get answers.

If I've misunderstood what you are asking, then I apologize.

I've got the newer Navcore already, and it does run on the GO 700

I also have multiple newer maps, some of which are labeled compatible with the GO 700.

What I was asking is if someone that has a Go700 (or similar) could plug their TomTom into their computer, and take a screenshot of the root directory.

The reason I am asking for this is that I am unsure of what folder the newer Navcore is looking for for the maps, and I want to make sure I have the proper folder names.

'Compatible with..'. but not 'Licenced for....'

When you accepted the Licence agreement (by "breaking the seal") you agreed that each map was for use on ONE device only.
Maps are not legally copyable between different units, and TomTom go to great lengths to stop it. It's the same kind of thing as video piracy.

You don't own any maps, you just have a limited licence to use them in the ways TomTom stipulate.
