We drove from Chicago down to Southern Indiana this weekend and with ongoing construction on I-65, TomTom's traffic service came in handy. Unfortunately, my excitement didn't last very long.
While the GO 630 was rerouting us around a 90 minute backup, traffic service (and all data service for that matter) all of a sudden stopped working and two minutes later the unit would reset on its own. Once it did that it would recalculate the last route and everything worked fine again. It did the same thing several times on the way to and from Indiana.
Since we drive that route fairly frequently I don't really have to rely on the GPS to find my way home but next week we'll be in Florida on vacation and the fact that the unit could just reboot on its own and cause me to miss a turn doesn't make me very happy.
Does anyone have an idea what the problem could be? Any suggestions on how to avoid this problem in the future?
I wonder if it will ever be possible to finish a trip without any incident?
Andy
