GO 530 map problem

Hi guys. So i have a tomtom go 530, and it has GB+IE maps on the built in memory, and i bought East europe on an SD card. It has worked fine for months, but then i decided to buy a TMC-RDS receiver. I did, but it didn't work, because i had to update the software first. So i did that too. And since i did, when i click the map on the card it says "map error" or, sometimes the device won't power on until i remove the SD card. There are many important addresses on the card, stored as favourites and also as recent destinations and i will be needing the east eu maps soon too. I did then put the older sw back, but the map on the SD still wont work. I'm stuck, i've tried everything. Any ideas?
Like which folder are the favourites or the recent destinations stored in?
if i knew at least they could be saved.
Thanks.

Both recent destinations and favourites are found in the file mapsettings.cfg which resides in the specific map folder.

What kind of map error did you see?

thanks. so do you think i will be able to copy that off and put it on the hard drive? i will try that.

well the device won't power on (Stops at the splash screen for two minutes, then reboots) so the only way to see any error message is to click "operate my device" in tomtom home. i will check wednesday morning (in about 10hours) what error it exactly says.

When you're in "Operate my device", try to rename a favorite. That often clears out the problem with the Tomtom rebooting.
