TomTom go 2535 live and via 1605 TM
I just got my 3rd 2535live unit from TomTom  The deal is the live services keep not connecting so they have me send it back. so now I got one that works very well and I love it. What I would like to know is "what am I doing wrong" Why are my units always breaking down. Could it be the battery Like i have read time and time again? and if so could I or should I just replace the battery myself. Have any of you smart TomTom using guys had this problem with these new units? Please be blunt because sending these things back every 2 months is getting old:rolleyes:
Thank you all

If your previous problems were all related to Live services and you had the unit on vehicle power at the time, the battery shouldn't have become involved in that unless it was completely toast.

Yes, there has been a battery problem with U.S. 24XX and 25XX models and European 1005 equivalent models. While I can't say for certain, it APPEARS that TomTom in the U.S. has simply been swapping these for returned units that have the same problem batteries. The battery swap on a 2535 is pretty trivial compared to the old models, and while this should be TomTom's problem to solve, a DIY job might be worth the time vs. the time and brain damage of swapping units all the time.

I've dealt with this outfit before for my older units and found their product and service quite satisfactory: http://www.batteryship.com/htmlos/htmlos.cgi/08124.1.1155544604717594858
