hello folks
purchased 2505 today after my go 930 was stolen
was thinking almost being the same price as my 930 would have same bells and whistle but pretty disappointed
does anybody knows how to password protect this new go 2505 my 930 had a password on it so its useless to the thief who stole it
any info will be greatly appreciated :)

The 2405 and 2505 have a lot to offer as far as hardware (minus Live services on these two models). What is currently missing is a good deal of software functionality, mainly on the MyTomTom end. Password Protect on my old 130S was done threw the Home software as I'm sure was the same way for your old 930. Besides map updates and software updates, MyTomTom currently doesn't offer any other functionality. But I have been noticing over the past week that they have been updating small parts of it. We may very soon see most of the functionality show up with a new update. But like most people, I hate to wait :p.

Personally I am disappointed that TomTom has put the 2505TM for sale without all the features advertised up and running !
This unit is not up to date as far as I can tell. My map is not as good as the 920 I updated 7 months ago !
I love the unit but this is my 4th TomTom and it has soured me on them. It is Jan 8th and I understand updates will be 4 months down the road.
Lots of complaints on missing features here not to mention no map updates and traffic !!
1 waypoint instead of multiple waypoints, speed warnings only for HWY.
How do you get rid of legal notice and down loading phone book every time device starts ???
I have had it a little over a month and was tempted to take it back !!!
