GO 2505 TM:Latest Map and App in US

Could some one in the US with a GO 2505 TM please tell me what the latest Map and App version numbers are on there device?

TomTom Support is saying that the 2505 TM owners should not be getting the latest 8.65 maps unless they are covered under the latest map guarantee. Those of us who bought prior to the holidays, will only get the updated maps when they enable the map update service (the M in TM), which they have yet to do.

Also, the App version should still be 10.040 for this device in the US.

Even though MyTomTom has downloaded two Nav App updates and a 2.6 GB map update, my 2505 will not transfer them from the computer.

I'm running App 10.111.547853.74 and Map 865.3243. I had a few issues at first with the update but after a few trys loaded up.

The supervisor is wrong. The 2505TM has lifetime maps, you're elible for every map that is ever released for your device.


Also, Tomtom is allowing all app 10.x devices to get map 865 under LMG, regardless of purchase date.


Bottom line, try the download again, the 2505TM should be getting map 865. If it doesn't work, try clearing the MyTomtom cache and holding the Tomtom power button until you hear the drumrolls. If that still doesn't work, call Tomtom again as you'll probably get a different/better trained rep the second time.

I bought mine December 18th and have had no problems updating when they finally released the new applications and 8.65 map. Currently at 10.111 and 8.65 map like Nathan.

I have always had to clear the cache though when I see an update is posted here. My TomTom has not let me know automatically. Windows 7 PC...

It's Alive!

A miracle has occurred! My 2505 TM installed all Nav and Map updates today.

Why?

One answer, and I am skeptical of this because I have tried to update my 2505 TM many times under Window 7, is the repair of file permissions I did on my MacBook Pro. After an Apple Software Update to Xcode, I used the Disk Utility to Repair Disk Permissions. It repaired a file /System/Library/Extensions/AppleUSBEthernetHost.kext/Contents/MacOS/AppleUSBEthernetHost from -rwxr-xr-x to -rw-r--r--
When I saw this repair, since USB Ethernet is used by the 2505 and MyTomTom, I decided to try an install again after restarting MyTomTom. And it worked.
I repair my disk permission at least once a week. Why it found and repaired this file today, I don't know. Maybe this post will help another Apple user.
