GO 2505TM
Well, since the beginning of February my TT GO 2505 has started dropping cell phone calls for some strange reason. I didn't do anything about it since I was hoping that the release of updated maps might correct the issue, but to my dismay, the problem persists.

The TT connects flawlessly with mi iPhone 3gs and the address book transfers too, no trouble at all. Voice activation works great to initiate a call. Once the cal is established, I can speak to whomever it is I have called for a period of time, a few minutes perhaps, and then the call just ends.

If I redial and reconnect the call, the same thing happens again, over and over. Only the time to the call being dropped gets shorter and shorter. Pretty frustrating to say the least.

There's no problem with my iPhone because I can talk til my heart's content while driving (if I wanted to), while not paired to the TT. Never lose a call while using just the iPhone.

Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.

Cheers!

Did it start happenning on app 10.111? If so call Tomtom and let them know as it may be a new application bug.

Also try holding the Tomtom power button until hearing the drums. It reboots the device and may help with the problem.

I have had the exact same issue as David described.. I connect via bluetooth to a 2505 with a Samsung R360.

Same issue.. Any call will drop randomly after a few minutes..

I believe the issue is related to an update for the 2505; since I did not seem to have this problem when I first used the 2505 out of the box.. It only appeared to occur after the most recent update via MyTomTom (or possibly the update before it).

Resetting the 2505 does not fix the problem...

Yes App 10.111. I'll try the power button reset too. I've got nothing to lose.

Cheers!

So I spoke to TomTom customer support and worked through rebooting my 2505. It seemed to work and solve the problem as I was able to have a 5 minute conversation with the rep.

However, the problem keeps returning while I'm driving in the car. Pretty unimpressive for a $300 state of the art device.

Based on feedback I've seen on many forums, this is a new bug on the GO1000/GO1005/GO1050/GO2405/GO2505, and European/Australian VIA models.

The bug was introduced with the update to app 10.110, and remains on app 10.111.

The bug does not exist on the GO 2x35 and North American VIA models, which are all on the newer app 10.15x.

Hopefully this means that Tomtom will have it resolved on the next software update for the affected models.

If anyone is experiencing the problem, I recommend calling Tomtom and logging a complaint. The more complaints they receive the more they might prioritize a fix.

If it weren't an entirely different platform, a person would think they'd borrowed code from 8.351 :(. It's certainly not the first time they've created this kind of problem.

I'm curious - to the OP - does this always seem to happen when you're on the move? Of course, that's probably the most common mode for those experiencing the problem, but it would be interesting to know if it happens often when people are stationary... as when you were talking to the rep for 5 minutes.
