Get last 7.xx firmware

I have a 720. I still have the old 7.xx maps. Since the navcore 8.xx is so fraught with defects, I am interested in going back to the last 7.xx navcore. Any ideas where I can find it? Will there be any problems installing.

I have to say I am becoming really annoyed, after spending almost $400 for this thing almost none of the special features work. I could have bought a cheaper GPS without any of the bells and whistles, which don't work..

Is anybody keeping a list of the features that are broken, in preparation for a class action suit?

8.010 is reputed to be stable for the 720. It doesn't stutter and still has the FM transmitter. It supports up to map 810, not 815, but that doesn't matter for you.

7.221 is probably the most stable 7.x version. It won't work with any 8xx maps, but that doesn't matter for you.

1. Use windows explorer to copy everything from the tomtom to a backup folder on your computer (in case something breaks and you need to restore from backup).

2. Delete all individual files in the root folder of your tomtom. Do not touch any subfolders or their contents. Most importantly don't touch your map folders.

3. Extract the contents of the downloaded zip file (rename .cab to .zip) into the root of the tomtom. Overwrite any files/subfolders if asked during the extraction.

4. Restart the tomtom. If the tomtom won't start do a pin reset and then try again.
