My mate has just given me his GPS as he is going OS and won't be driving.

He will also give me the software and manual next week before he goes.

I tried it out a few times last night and I have two questions if anyone can help.
The GPS has been unused until last night.
I have downloaded the manual and had a quick look but haven't found what the info I need.

1 How do i get rid of the onscreen Tom Tom screensaver / adverts? ( what you might see in a store advertising the product on screen)

2 If I want to turn right into Smith St in 400 metres, the GPS says " Turn right in 400 metres" and when I get to the intersection it says " Turn right into Smith St" - a bit annoying.

Can i change this to say " Turn right into Smith St in 400 metres"? or 100 metres?

Cheers

For the first question, look at the contents of the unit using Explorer. You'll find a scripts folder. Just delete anything you find there.

It's just the way it is for the order of the announcements and what precisely is said when. In fact, you will sometimes hear the computer voice say "In 400 meters turn right on Smith Street". Normally though, the advance warning is without a street name and the closer warning will include it.
