G0530 cannot "see" New Maps

I have purchased Western Europe maps for my Go530. the new maps were too big to go on to the internal memory but they seemed to download ok from Home on to an 8GB card I put in to the TomTom, but when I switch on the unit in my car it can only see uk and ireland maps. What trick am i missing?

Have you tried Switch maps and see what is listed?

Switch maps is in the Change Preferences menus.
