Will TomTom supply DVD or CD's instead? My 700k internet connection cannot download this 1.7GB file before the TT server disconnects me. I emailed them but no response yet.

Have you tried calling TT support @ 866-486-6866 . you may be on hold for a few minuts but I have found them very good.

Make sure you are not near the limits of the room on either you computer drive or the TomTom. When the download is clearly under the size available on your device (you did not say which one), you generally get a warning form TomTom that there is not enough room, but if you are close to the limit(as I have been), it will often terminate before it is done.

It's a GO 730. Has enough room, it's just that, tomtom server disconnects you after a few hours.... my HOME meter showed it would take ~ 6 hours to download, I went to bed after 3 hours, got up and saw the message that the TomTom server timed out.

Att dave

I had the same problem in downloading the large map on my wireless notebook. If you are using this downloads are almost impossible for such a large map. You have to use it as a direct wire to your router. I don't know if this helps but it halped me. doctormstein1..

Yeah, i'm out in the boonies and stuck with a wireless broadband card from verizon....its' just fine for everything I do, except this, the mutha of all files.....

I have the same "out in the boonies" issue so I feel your pain. The TT servers are notorious for timing out. I tried 4 times the last time I downloaded maps before I could get it to work. From now on I'll just go up the road about 12 miles to the nearest coffee shop and buy a cup-o-joe and use the free high speed internet to download the maps.

Was just thinking, my folks have cable broadband, I'll just go over there and borrow the connection tomorrow and get it that way.
