Formatting issue.

Hello guys,

Does any body know an answer to this?

If i format the internal flash drive and if i dont have a back up of anything except the latest map, will i be able to make the unit work with just the CD supplied and the latest map? OR

Will i be able to make the unit work with just the downloaded HOME and the latest map that i had already downloaded?

If I recall, if you connect your unit to the computer, Home will recognize that the system software is missing and will perform an update. It will then be downloaded and installed.

Unless the maps have not been activated on that unit. What is on the unit currently, and does it fully functional ?

GAW, i wanted to know what would happen in such a situation. Right now, i have tomtom 720 with map 710.1584 NA.

GAW, I dont get you here... I thought , when i download a map from tomtom server, that map is already coded for my device, right? So at any time, i should be able to reinstall that same map into my tomtom even if the tomtom just woke up from a complete blank stage, right?
