Hello All: I'm thinking of getting an FM Xmtr for my TT910 and was wondering if any one has any experience with one. My intention is to use the audiobook feature mainly with MP3 music as a secondary function. Your thought would be appreciated. :D

I have one, and seems to work ok. There is static, and I have to turn up the volume on my radio a lot more to make it heard at the same level as the radio (this also makes the static louder). On long trips, you have to manually search for a blank radio freq if you get stepped on by a radio station.

Also, apparently with the new firmware 7.162, the bluetooth handsfree feature will NOT transmit over the FM mount (I've confirmed this, as have others). Check out this thread for more info: https://www.tomtomforums.com/showthread.php?t=6434

On another note, check out this thread to see how the IPOD connector will not play over the line out. http://www.yournav.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=11044

I have a weird issue with my 910 where it will randomly just drop the signal. It gets me to the point of violence when I'm driving and I hit a bump and all I hear is insanely loud static.

I'm using the tom tom FM transmitter and a tom tom 910. No joke, I can run over a pebble and it will flip out and drop the signal. I've moved the thing all over the place in my car, and it seems to make no difference. One thing I have noticed is the connector seems a little loose to me compared to the hard-wired suction cup. (the one that comes with the tom tom) It seems that it's the side to side vibrations that are causing it, and not the up and down movements.

Any ideas? Using the hard-wired version is not an option, as my car does not have a input jack. I have a 02 BMW 330i, so taking it to the dealer and having something like that added is not an option either, as I'm sure they will either laugh at me or charge me an arm and a leg.

Thanks!

Try Amazon.com

I got a replacement windhsield mount with a built in fm transmitter from Amazon.com when the original one fell and broke.

The transmitter works great, although it is a little underpowered and anyone passing by with a satellite fm radio seems to bleed over.

But is was half the price of the non-transmitter unit from TT, so I can't complain too much.

I use it for audio books, BT over the stereo, and directions. See the link below:
