Why is it when I type in a street name or speak it, such as Owl Valley Dr in Nepean Ontario Canada my 920 sais its not found. Yet when I browse the map I can find the street with the name on it. Is there something I'm missing here?

Not saying for sure but maybe it's the way the street/city is in the TomTom directory, sometimes I have to put in the street a different spelling to find what I'm looking for (now I'm speaking using a TTOXL) but I would think the basic would be the same, just work on it by using the touch screen and see what you can come up with.

Is it possible that Owl Valley Dr is in a different city than Nepean (like 'Ottawa' perhaps) and so when you have to designate a city, the unit doesn't see the street in the city name (Nepean) that you provide? But the browse map shows it because it's really showing you the street in another suburb or location?

For example, here in Toronto, a ton of streets should be designated as belonging to Toronto since amalgamation; however, the unit still thinks some streets belong to the suburb they used to be associated with. So, I can't find street X if I enter Toronrto but it will find it if I enter Scarborough or North York, etc.

Yeah I thought of that and tried using Ottawa as well still no luck. I am spelling it correctly, I find it no problem using the browse map feature. Must be under another suburb other then nepean.

Spoken is Very Fussy

We have South Third Avenue (for example) here in Minneapolis. If I tell my 920 (verbally) that I want Third Avenue, it's unable to sort out that I might want South Third Avenue, and starts spitting out Thirtieth Street and useless stuff like that. So, it doesn't try to apply intelligence in the spoken addresses like it does when you're typing them in -- You pretty much have to say it exactly as found in the map.

Which may have nothing to do with what's happening to you , but it's something I've found!
