Fight with TomTom

I downloaded a map that was supposed to be version 7.10 for my One v2. Well after downloading and installing it I find out that its Ver 6.75. I immediatly call support and they tell me that I knew what I was downloading. I told them yeah Ver 7.10. I got it from the UK site. They said not I got it from the American site. I tell them that the US site is down how can I do this.
I was then put on hold for 20 min to be told that it clearly reads that by downloading and activating I assume something.
Long story short I'm stuck with an old map that I didn't want.
Great support TOM TOM. In other words they really don't care!

What was your original map version?

Go stright to a manager and bypass the underlings. At some point let the manager know that your posting everything that happens on the site. At some point cooler heads will prevail.

I had somewhat the same problem i was promised a newer version of Map. When i Called back with my TT in hand they told me the other operator was mistaken. I asked for a Manager but to no avail. I hung up and called back and talked to someone else told them the problem i was having and in the end i did get my map. But i do find you have to call a couple times to get a right answer or someone that knows what they are doing. But its not only TomTom i find it with alot of tech support places.

My original was 6.65. Why?

Just curious as to from how low on the map 'ladder' you were hoping to climb. From v6.65 to v6.75 isn't much of a difference.

I know and thats exactly what I've told them too. Why would I just go up to 6.75. I sent another email to support with my reciept that does not say what version I have. I'm not gonna pay for a mistake that they made. I will keep you updated.

Well just recieved an email from support here is what it read

" Thank you for taking the time to contact TomTom Support regarding map updates. It is our goal to provide you with an exceptional customer experience. We are always happy to help.
Please rest assured that all 675 maps purchased after October 18, 2007 are eligible for automatic upgrade to the 710 map. As such, we have added map version 710 to your account for you.

Not sure why I get a different response now? If they told me this the first time I would have been happy. Oh well worked out in the end.
