I was testing AmiGo as an alternative to Waze. While I really like some functions of AmiGo, there are things that make it hard to keep using it compared to Waze:
-The speed limit is not displayed in every screen size. In a Mazda 3, interestingly, you only see the speed limit icon when the app is using the full screen, or when it is in small mode. In 'big mode' it just refuses to appear.
-The speed limit also hides when interacting with the interface. I'd argue it should be always visible.
-Cannot set multi-stop routes.
-Main point: The battery usage is horrendous for whatever reason. I use a wireless connection to Android Auto, and when using AmiGo, I can feel how the phone gets completely hot in my pocket. There has to be some unoptimized routine in the app that Waze is just doing better. Polling to frequently, or maybe getting the screen to active? I cannot tell.
