Error msg

Wondering can anyone help me with this error. My operating system is Windows Vista, I had trouble installing tomtom home, but after a few security tweaks I got it up and running and the following comes up when I try to install updates. I cannot use the device until I can solve this as no GPS signal is coming up and i need to update the device.

home was down about the time you used it. Wait a little and try again. I have a vista 64 bit laptop and have no trouble with home. I know that tomtom was having on and off problems yeaterday and today.

Same thing was happening to me earlier today. It wasn't just you. I wasn't able to log in nor was I able to download any updates. I tried a few hours later and it started working again.
