Looks like you are after the entire board, since I don't see any smoked components.
One idea - see if you can pick up a 'for parts' unit off eBay where the screen has been broken or died. But... the Rider 2 was released in 2007, so they may not be that easy to come by now.
True enough, but there won't be any new stock of that part anywhere at TomTom at this point.
As I say, your best bet would be to try to find a Rider2 with a dead screen or similar issues and take your chances, but even those may be hard to find at this point in time. The good news is that such a unit probably won't cost much if you can locate one.
What happened to yours? Connector issue?
Ouch. Here's hoping that it's only the charge board that took the hit. Before your battery ran low due to lack of charge, did the remainder of the device seem to be working OK?
It was wiring ok and I bodice the main board is ok. I saw there are a few repair shops in the UK and Romania and will ask them as well. Thanks for your input
