Download 710 Maps for Go910

I have trying to do this through the UK and other European sites, as the US map page is down. I can get it into the shopping carts, but cannot get my billing address in - the menus block out all N. American countries on the "County" addresses.

On TT Home, they only offer the smaller (less then 1 gb) US-Canada Map. I have heard of other members accomplishing this download (although there seems to have been some frustrating instances of it not working). Is there a different procedure I am missing ?

Makes me wonder if TomTom does not want N American customers to only purchase new maps - but only new units currently.

This happened to me on the home page (US site). I bought my TT Le on Oct 5 at Best Buy. On Nov 11 I tried to buy the new map. On my order page it showed I ordered it but had not paid for it, (when I hit the order button I kept getting an error) I called support and they gave me the map for free!! NO BS. Try calling suppport and hope for my luck.

Use TT home and order it through that. I did not need an address, just a credit card. It was 49.95 Euros which came out to 75 bucks on my credit card.

Thanks guys. I had tried TT Home and then called support. After several sessions where they put me on hold, the best she could come up with was "they are continuing to update the website/TT home mapsite - try again in a few days.

Never asked me what version of Home I was using (1.5.0.6). That apparently was the problem, 1.5 only shows less then 1 gb maps. I tried Home 2.1, and it is downloading. Now - if I can avoid some of the problems others have had installing it....

710 Maps not showing up on Home 1.5

Finally got new NA maps download and installed with Home 2.1 (1.5 Home Map store only offered up to US & Canada). I have both versions of Home, but now when I am on Home 1.5, the 710 NA map does not show up on the list of items on the device.

It is there though, as it works when operating the device from TT home - just doesn't appear on the explorer page. I had removed the old 665 version.

Hi, GAW, glad to know that you are successful in your download of the V.710 NA map.

I have tried numerous times without success. Could you share your method as how did you do it?

I have tried under Home 2.1 and I reached as far as Step 2 on checkout. When asked to confirm checkout, I was sent back to Sign In again. I did the Sign In and checked the already have account statement, an error statement appeared as follows: "We do not know your complete account details. Please fill in all your personal details in the form. When you enter a company name be sure to also enter a valid VAT number."

At this point, I do not know what form or company it mentioned. I have given all relevent information when I first established an account with TomTom. Any suggestion? Thanks.

Have you set up an account on the TomTom.com webpage already ?

If not, that could be it. You would also possibly need to have had your unit set up with that account under Plus services so it knows who you are for the download. You also may need to have your device connected (mine was) when you are on TT Home 2.1 and are making the purchase.

It will first only download it to your Home files on your computer, and you wcan install it after that.

I think you asked the wrong question

The 7.1 maps are not for sale in the US (not yet at least officially) so the only thing you can do is call and ask them to associate the new maps to your account as you have just purchased the unit. Once that is done, go through the instructions that many have posted as it will not show up for download until the removal of the old maps are completed (do not remove until your case is closed and they posted the maps to your account .)

I have tried GAW's suggestion without success.

I will contact Support after the holidays for assistance.

When will the US site be up and running is anybody's guess but I hope soon.

I'm using home 2.1, I'm in the US (which shows as my location in Home), saw the 710 maps, bought, downloaded, and installed with no issues.
