I've been living with this issue for so long, I'd almost forgot about it until today... just one of those annoying things that becomes background noise...

In my area, we have a great many exit-only lanes that are created on our interstates. Every time I get within 1/2 a mile of one, Susie INSISTS on warning me to "keep left" -- not always the wisest move when my next exit on an 8 lane is only a mile away, but I understand what she's trying to warn me about... to stay out of the exit-only lane.

Problem is, MOST of our in-town exits are of this sort, and the constant nagging me regarding lane position drives me nuts.

From the beginning, I had assumed that checking the "Disable 'keep to highway lane" instructions'" would eliminate that warning, but it never has made any difference. If not for this purpose, what does that checkbox accomplish, and is there an alternate means for shutting off the lane nag? It's been this way from Navcore 7 forward, and remained even at 8.3 (for as long as I ran it, anyway).

How about 'disable early warning', the one above the highway selection?

I think the early warning is to let you know that you have a turn coming up a fair distance before you get to it in case you need to get over to another lane?

If you turn this off it will only tell you to turn when you are on top of the exit.

(not keep to lane guidence )

can't you record a voice command for 'keep left' that has silence on it?
I'm using Susan in order to provide street names, etc. Aren't recordings limited to the lesser of the voices?

Have tried all of the buttons (including disabling warning, etc) without success. Still wondering what the "keep to highway lane" button is about since it seems to have no effect at all, on or off. Guess it could just be a bug, and really should quiet this, but was never addressed by TT.

You could try the clear flash tool found here. Don't know whether it'll help.

Worth a shot. You don't lose any settings.

When I activated the 'recorded voice' commands, it takes over the 'You have reached your destination', 'keep left'... and many other commands. Susan takes over when there is a need to do 'text to speech'.

You can try recording and play a route demo... at the location on the map
to see if it works.

Thanks -- after all this time, I never realized that recorded and computer voice info could be 'intermingled'.

Want to guess how fast the phrase "Keep Left" will now disappear from Suzie's lexicon? :D Now, if I could just get rid of all of the preamble the rest that comes with it. Now it will sound like this:

("In one half mile, [keep left], Interstate 25, Highway 87") etc etc.
