Hi,

Are there a significant differences between these two models ?

After some search, i found go essential 6 was released in 2018 and go navigator 6 maybe two years ago (but not sure of this date, only saw tomtom news navigator 7 called 2nd generation in 2024).
And after seeing some videos it is difficult to differentiate them they look very similar.

Or maybe all models are updated the same way ? both software and hardware.

Thanks for info

The Navigator is a generation newer than the Essential. Is it better? I'll provide one piece of feature advice ...

The newer units like the Navigator do not support custom POI files. The older ones like the Essential do support that feature. The Navigator can, for a price (after a 1 year free subscription), provide you with live fuel prices, off-street parking availability, EV charging stations and weather info. The older models do not support those features.

Yes, maps and firmware and other items are updated in the same way on both models. Both require WiFi to do a map update, but both can use a direction computer connection for other updates (firmware, red light cameras, etc.).
