Start 40/4, GO 520 Wi-Fi
My husband's GO 520 Wi-Fi has the dreaded Red Cross and I tried resetting but didn't help. I followed the instructions for getting to recovery mode, get the black screen with white text, press on/off three times (quickly), but it just goes to a black screen, no spinning wheel/cogwheel, nothing. I have tried several times with no success, does anyone have any ideas? The unit is only just over 12 months old, so just out of warranty :-(

I spoke to support this morning and they think it is an internal memory issue so will need to go for repair.

It's a few months older than I first thought but still less than two years, so a repair cost of 109 euro, plus whatever postage will be, seems a bit steep, that's almost half the original cost!

Try googling Satnav repair shops in the UK. See if you can come up with a better price.
