sorry if this was posted somewhere else (I haven't run across it yet)

My TomTom is more than a couple years old and I'd like to update the map.

Based on the information I found, how can I determine what model / version I have and and how old the map is?
device: TomTom Go ONE version6.501 (?)
map: version 660.1215 (date?)

what is GPS v1.21?

Here's what I was able to decern:

version 6.501
OS: 1343
29 MB Ram
GPS v1.21
Boot 4.81
Map 660.1215

ttgo.bif:
[TomTomGo]
DeviceName=TomTom Go
DeviceVersionHW=ONE
DeviceSerialNumber=*****
DeviceUniqueID=*****
RamDiskVersion=20060904
BootLoaderVersion=481
LinuxVersion=1343
ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=6501
ApplicationVersion=7460
UserLanguage=English US

The TomTom One was first introduced in August 2006 and, judging by the map version, I suspect your map is also over two years old......

Yeah, I think you'd probably be happy updating :)

Well, I thought I'd get an answer there.

typed in my Serial number and got an "Error on Page" message.

Reloaded and typed in the Serial number 4 times, same result.

I like my TomTom, but this is the support I've come to expect from their website.

swell :mad:

I can't really tell your model, if you post the model number printed on the bottom (not the serial number) we can figure it out. The model number will look like 4X01.011.

Judging from your application number, I suspect you have a tomtom ONE V2.

Your current map is version 660, which was released in summer 2006. Tomtom releases maps every 3 months. The latest is V825, so yours is approximately 10 map versions old.

In order to use map 825 you'll have to upgrade to application 7.903 first.

To upgrade your application, download tomtom home from here, plug in your tomtom to your computer, and let tomtom HOME repeatedly upgrade your application until it gets you to 7.903 or later.

After fully upgrading the application, you can then buy the latest map within the tomtom HOME application.
