Tomtom has informed us that the USA map version 905 will likely be delayed until late March.

They are still expecting version 905 for maps that do not include the USA to launch by end of February.

Well ain't that about a ....

One wonders if they'll pick up the schedule again for mid-May. No reason to think they won't, but ...

Here I'd hoped that some of my Mapshare changes could finally be realized and tested!

Any stated reason for the delay?

Maybe the US is thinking of invading yet another country and annexing it?

I'll get my coat...

I thought TomTom provided map data to Apple Inc.? Maybe they are trying to get things right before the next release. Hopefully TomTom can add the new Interstate 69 road in Southern Indiana for the next map release. It starts from I-164 to Crane, Indiana.

This delay poses an interesting situation for TomTom. For devices that don't have lifetime maps and the owners subscribe to map updates, if the subscription expires between late February and late March the owners won't get the map update they paid for, will they? As a consumer, I'd view this as a breach of contract. They should be directly notifying subscribers of this situation and informing them of what is going to happen. Will they extend the subscription? Will the current subscription still get the update without action being taken or re-subscribing?

If a user has an annual subscription, the only difference I can see would be the timing of delivery. I'm sure the 4th of 4 will be delivered to anyone with a subscription in force that happens to expire between times.

I was told that any one who has map 905 as the last series of a subscription will still get the map.

Also, it appears that there are delays to other countries too, most likely none of the maps will be released this month.

FYI, I just bought a Start 50TM and the latest update was version 900 as of yesterday (3/22) for the USA map.

Yep. The USA 905 map was supposed to be out some time in February (to keep with the 3 month span between maps) but got delayed about 4 weeks or so (no GOOD reason why that has happened) and should [finally] be available next week.

By the time we get it, I reckon it will be 6 weeks late.

Hopefully, it will be the first part of that week so I will be able to download the map before my trip. Any good reason for the delay? :D

Just rumors, and even those don't explain the length of the delay.

TT is still expecting to release maps for North America tomorrow, but unexpected things can still break in the process so no guarantees.

Map 905 is now up and available for some devices in North America, hopefully it launches for all devices within hours.

Confirmed. Available for my GO 740 Live this morning.
