TomTom Model(s)
One 130 S
I am really hoping that Tomtom can get their act together with their new models. I plan to purchase a new GPS soon and really like what the 2353TM could be. My concern is will Tomtom ever get it working as it should. I really like how Tomtoms operate over the Garmins I have looked at I just don't want to buy a pig in a poke.

I know what your going through,i recently returned my go 2535tm because im tired of waiting for updates for it.I really like tomtom to but i think i might try something else.

My 130s works just fine, I just wanted to get a new toy and give the old unit to my son.
Hopefully Tomtom will have the bugs straightened out when I get ready to buy.

might want to reconsider 2535 m live

I've had a 2535 M Live for about a month, and despite the few issues noted in the forums the device is great. TomTom also updated MyTomTom recently, and today release an App update for the 2535, and also provided a map update for folks who didn't have the latest map version.

My map was already current (US / Mex / CA) when I bought the device, but the app update worked perfectly and took about 5 mins from start to finish.

We're still waiting for updates like Voice downloads, themes, and installable vehicle icons. But based on what I'm seeing, I suspect it won't be much longer. Impression is that TomTom is catching up with a software backlog these days.

Navigation is superb on the 2535, and I'm really enjoying Live Services as well. Speech (I'm using the US English computer voice / text to speech) is the best I've heard to date - significant improvement over my older Garmin 755t.

Speech recognition isn't perfect, but works very well. Lots more to like as well, although I know a few people still cringe at the rough edges. For me - pros outweigh the cons significantly. I'm extremely happy with the device, and expect to enjoy it even more once the remaining features are added.

Not to mention some slightly more (ahem) mission critical stuff, like the ability to plan an itinerary (promised for Q2, but most things have been late so far). I'm still more concerned over that sort of basic GPS functionality than some of the cute bells and whistles that can come whenever they come. I need to get places long before I need to hear Yoda tell me how to do it.
