Having difficulty setting up my device for recieving Data, i.e., weather, traffic, etc.

I have a Rider2 and a Blackberry 8230 phone with Virgin Mobile (Canada) as the carrier.

As I go thru the process, it asks for information I am unable to provide on my own, and 3 calls to Virgin support have all provided the same response, as in....huh?

My phone isnt on the list provided on my GPS (although I do have it paired to my Rider for phone calls no problem), so I select "other", it then checks for a wireless data connection, showing my phone as connected, then go to "select your country", which in my case is Canada and then goes to "select your provider" showing a list of either Fido or Rogers Wireless. I must select other, it will ask if I want to set up the wireless data connection manually....I must chose yes and then it asks for Access Point Name. No idea. Then Username. No idea. Then Password. No idea. It will then ask if I want to obtain my IP address auto (DHCP) or do I want to set up my IP address manually. If I select Auto, it then asks for a DNS server address, manual or auto, then goes to a "dial" number, a login script, etc.

At any rate, I dont know what the answers to the devices questions are, and it would seem that Virgin Mobile doesnt either.

Any help from someone in the same boat that has been successful would be appreciated.

Cheers!

I suspect supermod mvl will respond to your plight. He is one of our phone experts, among other talents......;)

If he, or some other knowlegable people don't respond within 24 hours, just pm mvl.

Try one of the following for apn:
inet.bell.ca
or:
pda.bell.ca

All other settings leave at the defaults and/or automatic.

If you get to the "share statistics" screen, then you know it works.
