TomTom Model(s)
GO 920(T)
...In the forums (sorry if it already exists). I've got a 920T. Let's say I'm on The Gardiner (Westbound) (@ Spadina) and I want the fastest route to The Gardiner (Eastbound) (@ Jarvis).

How would you punch something like that up in TomTom? I tried this the other day and it told me to travel like 5 more km's westbound and then loop back eastbound. It took so long that way and I had it set to Fastest route.

Anybody?

I think the 920 has the selection option for 'cross street'. So, I wonder whether this would work.........

Advanced Planning (or is it A to B on that model??)

Starting point, City = Toronto, Street = Gardiner W Cross Street = Spadina

Destination = Toronto, Street = Gardiner E Cross Street = Jarvis.

Shortest method

...

What I don't understand is why the "Fastest Route" was so slow. I sincerely doubt that the "Shortest Route" would've taken as long.

I guess the IQ routing data in that area (rightly or wrongly) was showing going another 5 km on the Gardiner was faster that screwing around on Lakeshore Blvd at that time of day.

Were you pointing in the wrong direction when you started? (as far as the TomTom was concerned).

Isn't there a 5-minutes penalty added to the journey time very time it wants you to do a u-turn?
(Something we hardly ever notice in the UK, but that really affects you Yanks with your wide main streets).
