Hi, would someone please explain the differences mainly with the GO connect and Uconnect exactly what they do. I know the blueandme is a Fiat Alfa model but who or what uses the other models and what does the connect and uconnect do different.

Many thanks

We don't have the same lineup here in NAM, but IIRC, the UConnect "Live" side of it implies (literally) that you bring your own data connection for Live services to the party via an app on your cell phone.

Beyond that, the whole system is integrated such that voice (commands, hands-free), steering wheel control, etc., are all properly integrated in the UConnect version.

Available for (at a minimum) certain Fiat, Alfa, Lancia, and Dodge/Jeep models.

As far as "the GO connect" part of your question, I'm unclear what is being discussed. "connect" has been used by TomTom to describe both their watch software and "MyDrive Connect" is the current app for updating the latest units.

Hope that was of any help whatsoever!

Hi love the avatar picture we had to ban it from the factory as screwed up paint finishes even buildings far away and did more harm than good to electrical switches.......

Thanks for some insight

I specialise in the installation and pairing of the BlueMe to Fiats Alfas and campers and do repairs to the Blue Me modules so do understand yes the various BlueMe versions.

There are a lot of supposedly blueme tomtoms all 4CS01 or 03 GO 1000 Live or non Live models being sold as BlueMe but are the TZ serial number which just says 'connect' on the TomTom identity chart. The uconnect does seem now something the Fiat Alfa cars have gone on to as an inbuilt version rather than a separate removable tomtom.

I picked up a TZ not working but got connected to the computer and it came up with a Vauxhall logo on the tomtom mydriveconnect website like when a Fiat or Alfa has been paired up with the vehicle you get a bespoke marque image in the top righthand corner of the mydriveconnect entry page.

I could not go any further as the main circuit board connection was all shattered so had no way to get a functioning touchscreen working.

Maybe the TomTom identity chart showing the TL/TZ model then is just a typo. I appreciate these are UK models but given the TL model also shows the tomtom as a connect model I don't know. I understand the 4GB to 8GB was an internal hard drive increase update to take the higher graphic maps so it does appear there was a particular 'connect' model maybe a fore runner to 'uconnect' systems. Was it then bespoke to another car manfacturer other than Fiat/Alfa/Lancia

Regards

Here's what I had for the old Blue & Me series. You can ignore the names in the first column -- those were all internal names during development. After the video size, the next column was 'storage'. 1 means internal memory only (no SD or uSD card). The next column was for firmware version, but that wasn't quite relevant to these devices. The "OTA" indicated a "Live" capable unit. So I've added a couple to your list, and you've added a couple to mine.

Hi,
Very interesting as I saw a BlueMe TomTom boxed with Abarth and etched on the back with the crab sorry if it is something more exotic name. I figured it was just a super marketing ploy to hike up the price but maybe it does give different data when paired for the places like garages etc.
As I said I only deal with the TomTom2 GO 1000 LIVE blueMe satnavs because it usually comes with needing repairs or software updates to the cars BM Module.
That said I do have a lot of failures with the BlueMe version of the TomTom and seems specific to when new and pairing up the process goes through connects to cars BlueMe then disconnects itself. After that I cannot do a factory reset and get back to basics as Blue me car menu image just turns grey and remains with title CAR MENU instead of reverting back to the blue rainbow man icon with title underneat FIND MY BLUEANDME.
I have tried a full battery disconnect, factory reset and the long hold triple main factory restore options but nothing. It appears once this has happened the BlueMe tomtom is 300GBP junk and sometimes after paying out 50GBP to put latest maps on it becomes worth nothing more than a bsaid GO Live 1000 I can pick these up for less than 10GBP and do buy them for replacement screens/digitisers for the BlueMe models.

If anyone has any advice on a fix for this problem it would be appreciated.

Many Thanks
