Confused with 3rd Edition

I am wondering if anyone can help. I am getting confused with the V3 and V4, i have a one 3rd edition (4N01.002) which has the 1GB internal memory, is their the capability to add more memory via a SD card? There is no slot on the outside of it, is there one inside? if not is 1GB sufficient for the map sizes currently that are available?

You cannot add an SD card to this unit, so you are stuck with the limits of the 1 GB internal memory. Therefore, the maps for these units tend to be slightly stripped down (fewer POIs mainly) in order to fit. Hence the difference in size between the USA-Canada map and the North America one (1.4 GB).

If you planned to go to Europe, for example, then you you would be unable to purchase the Western and Central Europe map because it is 1.6 GB in size. You would be forced to buy a smaller map.

That kind of sucks, maybe knowing that you would have thought TT would have bumped up the internal memory a bit. What would it have cost maybe $20 more bucks? Mind you i have been running around with an old Ipaq with a Navtech GPS jacket and ALK Co-pilot software for 5 years, this is a huge improvement over that system so i can definately live without all the POI's.
